My Role & Activities
As the lead UX/UI designer, I was responsible for the design and user experience of both the InSite portal for customers and internal teams, and the RedTrak app for drivers. I worked hands-on in Figma, Sketch, and Adobe XD, consolidating fragmented design assets from multiple vendors and customers. One of the biggest challenges was unifying designs from various tools into a single design system and component library in Figma.

Project: InSite Portal & RedTrak Driver App
I conducted UX research with both Ruan stakeholders and drivers, leading virtual and in-person interviews, prototype testing, and feedback sessions. Based on research insights, I designed responsive desktop and mobile interfaces and built a comprehensive style guide aligned with Ruan’s marketing and brand standards.
Problem We Solved
The InSite portal was needed to give in-house teams and customers visibility into delivery tracking and scheduling, providing real-time data on routes and logistics.
The RedTrak app was created to improve the driver experience, enabling them to access daily schedules, log inventory, and update delivery status in real time.
We also implemented Hotjar Insights and Google Analytics event tracking to optimize workflows, improve engagement, and refine designs based on real usage data.
Outcome
The InSite portal was successfully adopted by major enterprise customers- including Target and Whole Foods -who used it to integrate logistics tracking into their store operations and inventory management.
The RedTrak app improved communication across drivers, warehouse managers, and customers, providing a unified real-time view of delivery progress.
Business Impact
These tools enhanced Ruan’s ability to position digital solutions as a core differentiator in its value proposition, improving competitiveness and strengthening client partnerships.
User Impact
Internal teams benefited from a centralized view of delivery and driver data, which improved service response and customer support.
Drivers gained an easier way to manage daily tasks, reducing manual processes and improving communication on the road.
